You Think You Know

Back in the day, underwear was meant to be just that: under-wear. God forbid anyone caught a glimpse of your bra! It would've been quite scandalous. Thank goodness that's over! Now, we have the freedom to choose from all kinds of fabrics and colors, prints etc. to match our outfits. Good thing I found this Wacoal corset that doubles as both under and outer wear. It fit like a glove and gave just the right amount of coverage I needed. Don't even get me started about my muffin top! haha!
I chose to wear it under this sheer crop top to strategically cover everything I needed. I had a full day of errands, meetings and events and I didn't wanna shock anyone by showing too much skin so this was just right. The fabric was quite breathable, too!  So I didn't have to worry about getting all gross and sweaty half way through my day.

How would you have worn this corset? Let me know! Leave a comment below… ;)

Malaysia - Day 1

On our first day in Malaysia, the girls and I decided we wanted to do something different so we went to Genting Higlands which is a theme park about 45 mins - 1 hour away from Kuala Lumpur. No one warned us, though, how cold it would be. So imagine our surprise when we stepped out of the cab in our short shorts and sheer tops! We were totally unprepared.

The first thing we did was warm ourselves up with a bowl of hot soup before we could even brave the cold. I thought my vest was enough to keep me warm but I was so wrong. Needless to say, everyone looked at us like we were crazy.

I would like to take this opportunity to make a special mention to Angely of Access Travel who organized our entire trip. She made everything so easy for us. I also have her book all my other trips 'cause she always finds the best deals and has really good suggestions on where I should stay and what I should do. You guys should definitely contact her for help with all your traveling needs. You can also LIKE their Facebook page to stay updated with all the latest deals :)

Pumped Up Kicks - Malaysia Day 1

As mentioned in my previous post, this was taken on our first day in Kuala Lumpur, when we decided to spend the day dancing around theme parks and visiting chocolate factories. I found it was the perfect opportunity to sport my new @thesassycollection_ph kicks along with my Korean Rose vest.
The whole idea of hanging around a theme park suddenly ignited my inner California kid and brought back memories of when I used to work at one myself - Six Flags to be exact. What I thought was going to be a trip to down the road ended up being a 45-minute cab ride all the way to Genting Highlands where gloomy skies and freakishly cold winds greeted us. Thank goodness I brought a cardigan with me 'cause I would have been stuck indoors without it.
Lovin' the distressed denim vibe of this Korean Rose vest. Perfect to add a little edge to any look. You can also try wearing it on top of a girly dress to change things up.
What I love most about these kicks are the gold metal straps. It's completely changes the entire look of the shoe. I just felt cooler when I wore them. Yes, I know admitting it defeats the point entirely, but I'm just a dork like that. Added bonus: the hidden heel gives you that extra little height which never really hurts ;)

Here's a photo diary of our 2nd day in KL. This was basically our last day to do anything so we went to the Aquarium and later that evening had dinner at 'Dining in the Dark'. I recommend this to anyone planning to visit KL in the near future.

Celeteque Brightening Radiance Body Cream

It's finally here! I'm so happy to share this new ad I did for Celeteque DermoScience Brightening Radiance Body Cream. I have always been a firm believer in being comfortable and proud of the skin you're in, both literally and figuratively speaking. And given how much I love staying under the sun, I really have to make sure I take care of my skin. So I was pretty excited to discover Celeteque's new hypoallergenic cream that contains SPF and keeps skin radiant. The best part, for me, is it's quick absorbency without the grease. Perfect for women on the go. I keep mine in the car so I never forget it. Dr. Schweiger explains just how it works:

P.s. I'm so happy this Korean Rose dress came to my rescue during the shoot! Thanks so much guys!

Greetings earthlings! So sorry for the delay on my updates. There is just so much going on I can't even begin to tell you all about it. Hopefully, things should ease up soon. Anyway, let's move on to something a bit more interesting!
This was obviously taken right before I chopped my hair. I was shooting for a 'Day in the Life' project that I can't wait to tell you all about! In the meantime, though, I just had to share my adoration for this outfit. I guess I believed I was somehow strolling the cobblestone streets of Paris 'cause this isn't something I would typically wear here. Sometimes, though, I think it's quite fun to change things up and go for something out of the norm. What do you think?

Cream Silk Hair Sonata

I'm so happy I can finally post about the WORLD'S FIRST EVER Hair Sonata by Creamsilk. As you all saw on my Instagram and Twitter accounts, the night was just fabulous! Everyone came out to the NBC tent all dressed to the nines to witness history in the making. I mean, when else have you ever heard of human hair being used on violin bows? It just astonished me to think that all this hair treated with Creamsilk didn't even break with all that pressure. That night, strong hair was definitely not just seen but heard as well. Usually, Laureen, Kryz and I are such chatterboxes but watching the Philharmonic Orchestra lead by Maestro Gerard Salonga just took the words right out us. We literally had goosebumps. This was definitely a night to remember. If you don't believe me, just look at the photos below…

Before I end this post, let me just talk a bit about the look. Having the honor of being one of the correspondents for this lovely evening meant looking the part and I knew just what gown I wanted to wear. This is actually a gown I've had for a while. I asked my mom to keep it for me after she wore it ages ago and I am so glad she did! It's got just the right 'poof' to make you feel like a princess but still classy enough to look like a lady. I couldn't really explain to anyone who had made my dress 'cause it's a vintage Tadashi and isn't really sold here. But I am definitely wearing this again in the future.

All in all, a great evening! Thank you so much to Creamsilk for letting us experience this evening as correspondents. xx

It's been quite a while since I've really gone out for Halloween. So I decided I'd see what Manila was up to these days. I didn't really make an effort to dress up this year but the party's theme was 70's disco so I dressed up as a disco ball - go figure. Haha! Considering I had only a few hours to put my outfit together, I think we can all let it slide. ;)
As you can tell from the photos, it was quite a fun night! I wish I had stayed out longer 'cause apparently the party only really started when I went home. Great! If you wanna stay up to date and get invites to more parties like these, check out #iwasthere on Facebook.

I can't take credit for these awesome photos. Shout out to the very talented Inez Moro - your photos make it seem like we were all in a short film. To see more photos, click here

Balesin with Antistax

A while back, you may have seen on my Instagram that a bunch of us flew out to Balesin thanks to Antistax. It was quite an adventure 'cause a lot of us have never been before and have only heard stories of how beautiful was - and it was true.
Just look at that view. This was taken from the tiny, tiny plane we were in on a 20-minute flight to Balesin.
Antistax, wasted no time in really pampering their guests. After we checked in, they took us to our gorgeous villas to unload our luggage then straight to our scheduled foot spas! Talk about being spoiled. ;) No complaints here!
Antistax made sure that we took full advantage of the amazing views Balesin had to offer. So we had our foot spas in huts by the beach.
Of course, the massage would not be complete without trying out Antistax' cooling leg gel! Not only were my legs cool and fresh after but so relaxed after the flight. What I really loved about this trip is how it reminded all us to take care of our legs. I don't really think about it very often but our legs are one of our body's most-used and most neglected parts. So it's good to be reminded to take care of them from time to time.
After some much needed r&r, it was time to hit the beach with these girls! We even made a video just being silly. Watch it here.
Then we went for a hike that took us to this beautiful 'Mykonos Village' that made me feel like I had been transported to Greece.
It's really amazing what the developer have done with this island. You really feel like you're traveling the world without having to fly anywhere.
From point A to point B we had reminders like this one of just how we can take care of our legs. I thought I'd share it with you too.
After the hike, we had a bit more free time before dinner so Lissa and I ran back to the beach to try and get a little bit of a tan in.
*Triangl bikini*
Didn't really work 'cause the sun was just about setting when we got back.
Even as the sun sets, everything was so picturesque. I really don't think there was one ugly thing about this island.
We then moved onto dinner and the main event where the beautiful brand ambassadors (Tweetie De Leon, Ruffa Gutierrez, and Cheska Litton) talked about why they love their legs and how they take care of them. Of course, aside from rest and proper care. These ladies used Antistax to make sure they prevented having leg veins. I must say it's really cool to have a product so accessible to avoid something we all really don't want.
Thank you, Antistax, for really enlightening us on how to properly care for and love our legs. I learned so much on this trip and I hope this message will bring further awareness to all the ladies out there who may be troubled with leg veins or just want to avoid it in the future. I will definitely be more mindful now as I have learned to love my legs.

It's around that time of year again for Christmas parties and if you're trying to think of how to change things up without having to go for the usual green and red color schemes, then this might be an option for you.
I love this Emma Skirt from Van Vogue Manila's Holiday collection (designed by Jo Beth). It's fun and sexy but classy enough to wear at office parties or a night out. I chose to wear it with this top 'cause I wanted something I could easily take from day to night. I also wanted to keep everything else minimal as I wanted the skirt to be the main attraction.

Physiogel Beauty Fair

Recently, I had the pleasure of learning all about 2014's beauty trends from some of the country's top make-up artists with the use of Physiogel. The most important lesson I think I got form the whole day was how important good and healthy skin is and that was definitely the focus for 2014 trends. Very little foundation and just lots of glowing skin. The make-up artists (Krist Bansuelo, Pong Niu, & Carla Avancena) all used Physiogel to prep all their models' skin then followed up with very little cover up and, in fact, very little make up! I found that refreshingly surprising but also very exciting because with products like Physiogel, we no longer have to worry about dehydrated skin. Check out some of the photos from the day and get inspired to try all the new looks with your newly hydrated skin by Physiogel.
To those worried about their sensitive skin, Physiogel moisturizers are equipped with the revolutionary Derma Membrane Structure (DMS) Technology, which is formulated to resemble the natural building blocks of the skin to effectively help repair the skin barrier and help prevent moisture loss. So it actually has less irritants than most other moisturizers out there! Physiogel actually hydrates and keeps skin moisturized by mimicking the natural lipid composition of the skin for up to three days even with washing or bathing. Hopefully, this washing or bathing thing won't be the case for you. lol!
Here's the best part: Physiogel prices have been reduced by as much as 29% :-)
Just so everyone's in on the loop, here are the make up trends I gathered during the fair:

For Spring/Summer 2014, the no-makeup look will be dominant. It will all be about raw, natural beauty. Complexions will be understated, flawless, fresh, well-groomed but effortless. The pure, organic, natural beauty of the face will be celebrated. Keep everything neutral, but emphasize a radiant, glowing skin with a defined and elongated brow.

Makeup for Fall/Winter 2014, meanwhile, is a sensual look that highlights cherry red lips; metallic eyes are back but with a lightened overall effect with flawless skin and a hint of gloss. It will all be about a natural flush with blush darker than your skin tone and a little pearlized shadow to add depth to the eyes; natural-looking skin with shimmery pigments; and gloss and a structured, statement brow
I want to say thank you to the Physiogel team for having me! I learned so much and I hope you did too! Now we're all ready to welcome in the new year with the latest beauty trends.

Leopards on a Gold Leash

It's that time of year again! I am so excited for Christmas but that also means hectic schedules and lots of Christmas shopping! So I was pretty happy to get my Hued sandals last month cause I knew I'd be able to use them a lot! They're so comfy and they go with practically everything. I usually just keep them in the car so I can change in and out of my heels when I have to run errands like on a day like this. It was pretty hard to choose from this or the beige one but I just went with white since I realised I don't really have any white sandals yet.
This is actually quite an easy outfit to throw together since there are no crazy prints to clash - just white and some leopard print (which I consider to be a neutral anyway) haha! It's more of a play on textures with the lace on the dress and the leather and fur on the bag. If crazy prints and loud colors aren't your thing then this might be... What do you think?

Sun, sand, surf and awesome music. What more could you ask for in a music festival? You get all the perks of a weekend getaway with a great big party to boot - not to mention all the great international acts like RAC & Kulkid. Okay. Just thinking about it makes me miss it already. This is definitely something you can't just do once. I wonder what they have lined up for 2014?
If you guys didn't get to go, here's just a few photos to show you what you missed out on...
Jealous yet? ;)

Rushing to board my flight this morning to go to El Nido. So I'm gonna keep this post quite simple. Can I just say kudos that I woke up at 3:45am to make my 5am call time?! Okay, back to regular programming. Here's what I wore on a day of meetings and errands. I wanted the prints to speak for themselves so I kept accessories to a minimum. The white and black combo also serve as a perfect backdrop for the red to really pop. :) Just a word of caution, if you want to play around with printed pants, be wary that they may sometimes make your legs look wider. ;)
What do you think?

Caped Crusader

Is it just me or did January fly by in a blink of an eye? Now February is here and I have gotten a few emails asking about what to wear on date night. So here's what I would probably wear on that special night.
To begin with, I decided to play around with the color of love but rather than going for an all red dress, I decided I'd subdue the color with some black to keep it flattering - especially if you're planning to eat a lot that night! ;)
I found this Harlow top on the Van Vogue Manila website and thought it had quite an interesting cut so I thought I'd play around with it. Jo Beth (the designer) used a pattern that gives the sequins some character without being too loud, which I liked.
If you're going for a look like this, I would suggest choosing one piece that would accentuate a part of your body that you are most comfortable with or proud of then keep everything else simple. You want to feel beautiful but you also want to stay comfortable, so don't wear anything that would bother you all night. That would just take away from your experience.
For those wondering, Van Vogue Manila now also makes customized designs and pieces. So if there's something you would like to do differently, they can definitely help you out. Like I said, it's all about what you want and what you're comfortable with.
(Van Vogue Manila top, Dorothy Perkins skirt, Giorgio Armani clutch, Steve Madden heels)
Most of all, I want you to remember not to put too much pressure on the night or yourself! It's just one more day in the year to enjoy and spend with your loved ones (whoever they may be). I hope this helps. Enjoy, ladies!

A Carnival That Cares

With music carnivals popping up from left to right, it's kind of hard to tell which ones really matter. Well, take a look at this one - Sonic Carnival. We used the hashtag #carnivalcares because one of the producers of the show sat us all down and explained that whether or not this carnival broke-even, they would still donate a portion of their sales to help aid the victims of Typhoon Yolanda. Isn't that admirable? It's easy for people to hesitate spending money on nights out but it's so much more worth it when you know your money really goes to a good cause. :-)
And you know what makes it even better?
When they throw an awesome party & night to remember.

Who wants a part two?! *Aside from me, of course... :)
