Do blondes really have more fun?
We've all heard the saying but I guess you never really know until you experience it for yourself. So last week, I took the plunge. I headed over to
Envy Me salon in Robinsons Galleria mall as a brunette and came home a blonde - much to everyone's surprise.
I initially wanted to go full on "ginger" (red head) but after some convincing, the lead hair stylist said I should try going blonde first then slowly make my way to being a red head. Bleaching my hair was the scariest process 'cause I always hear how bleach kills your hair but good thing
Envy Me salon offered a treatment called the Brazilian Blowout that coats each strand with keratin, making it much stronger and healthier.
I think my hair will forever be damaged from all the coloring I've done through the years but I really noticed the change in my hair after doing this. After every shower, my hair is much smoother and shinier than what it used to be. The effects lasts a few weeks but I think it's definitely worth it especially if you'll be 'killing' your hair with bleach, like I did. ;)
After some bleach, a mani-pedi, and 3 hours passing by of pure 'chikahan', I was officially a blonde.
It's only been a week but I have noticed a few changes now that I'm blonde...
1. It's a great conversation starter - everyone always wants to know all about the big change - why I did it and where I did and I am very happy to oblige.
2. Lighter features - If you have strong, dark features (like I do), lightening your hair might be a pleasant change. You'll notice that it softens your features and, in my case, makes you look less 'mataray'. I'm generally quite friendly. So knowing that I look more approachable now is quite a relief.
3. More fun? - I don't know if I'm having more fun per se, now that I'm blonde, but I do feel more liberated and open to new experiences. It's one more thing I can say that I've done and cross off my 'kikay' list. So maybe blondes don't really have more fun but it's definitely a fun thing to try.
