Looking for something to scream about this Halloween? Head on over to Universal Studios Singapore this month and you'll definitely be in for a scare. Starting October 2, USS will bring your scariest nightmares to life with 4 haunted houses and 3 scare zones at their fifth instalment of Halloween Horror Nights—which will run for 14 nights across five weekends. This is the only immersive Halloween scare fest in Singapore this year so you won't wanna miss out.
Throughout the theme park, the haunted houses are staged above or around the rides and the scare zones in different sectors too. I don't think many of us knew what we were walking in to but just when we thought we were going to walk to a haunted house, these extraterrestrials and deformed soldiers popped out of nowhere and immediately immersed us within their battle zone. It was quite intense, actually. The actors were so committed to their roles that you really believe you're somewhere else (where you don't wanna be).
This year, the theme is a lot scarier because Universal Studios Singapore actually incorporated local ghost stories for their themes. From paranormal sightings on the MRT to the haunted Siloso Gateway Block 50, Singaporeans and tourists alike will definitely be afraid to be riding the MRT at night. This local twist will definitely bring the fear closer to your heart.
If you're a bit more of a scaredy cat (like Laureen& Camille *ahem*) then you will probably want to go in a group of four or more so you can stay in the middle and feel semi-secure while the spirits attack your friends rather than you. David was the only guy in our group so naturally we forced him to step up and lead the group in every single haunted house. haha! Poor David. All the girls were all clasping on to him for dear life while I laughed in the back and took photos and videos (as seen on snapchat). I'm usually quite jumpy when it comes to anything that pops out of nowhere so I opted to stay in the back to avoid hitting the actors by reflex. So if you don't wanna get hit unintentionally, never startle me.

Universal Studios Singapore's Halloween Horror Nights 5. I promise you, you will get so many good videos of them freaking out! haha! Well, that's if you don't get freaked out yourself. I daw one guy strap a GoPro to his head which I thought was pretty clever. So you might want to do that. Tickets are on sale now and I heard they sell out pretty fast. So be sure to book right away to assure a slot in the coming weeks.

This trip was definitely different from all the other trips I've taken with my friends and because of that, it's definitely one I won't forget. If this is the level of production value they've come up with this year, I can't wait to see what they think of next!
